Wagner High School<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Students participating in the 2024 Judiciary and The Arts Program will prepare a visual representation of one of the three subjects listed below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>a)<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Create artwork about \u201cfair use\u201d in copyright law. <\/strong>Fair use is the right to use a copyrighted work under certain conditions without permission of the copyright owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;b)<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Design a courthouse or courtroom of the future. <\/strong>The design should convey at least one aspect of the judiciary\u2019s constitutional role, which is described by Justice For All as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The federal judiciary is one of the three branches of the national government. It seeks to provide the fair and effective administration of justice for all persons and interests, regardless of race, color, creed, gender, or status. Federal courts and their state court counterparts provide a means for settling disputes peacefully, and help to foster democratic governance, consistent with the Constitution&#8217;s goals of &#8220;justice&#8221; and &#8220;domestic tranquility.&#8221; Those who founded our government recognized the critical importance of an independent national judiciary with a limited but essential role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See, e.g., the Thurgood Marshall U.S. Courthouse <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ca2.uscourts.gov\/photos\/slideshow.html#9\">http:\/\/www.ca2.uscourts.gov\/photos\/slideshow.html#9<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>c)&nbsp;View a naturalization ceremony and design a courtroom mural. <\/strong>Design a modern mural about becoming a U.S. citizen in the 21st century that could be displayed in the space where naturalization ceremonies occur.
